Rich Ponce, President and Founder
Rich has over 25 years of construction experience and founded Austin Concrete Solutions in 1992. Since then he has overseen the completion of more than 1000 turnkey residential and commercial structural concrete projects. Rich was nominated for Small Contractor of the Year in 2006 and was one of five finalists for that prestigious honor.
Areas of responsibility: Construction customer relations, estimating, and overall construction oversight.

Ron Vorndran, VP - Construction
After earning his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Texas, Ron joined Rich Ponce in the early months of Austin Concrete Solutions. While Ron was in college, he kept books for a local concrete contractor, after which he ran Bomanite of Austin, a

decorative concrete business. Soon thereafter, Ron joined Rich Ponce at ACS. Ron has been responsible for hundreds of projects ranging from small residential slabs to multi-level commercial structures.
Areas of responsibility: Construction manager, and chief safety officer.

John Whitaker, VP - Chief Operating Officer
John manages corporate operations, and came aboard after holding a senior management position at Baxter Planning Systems. He has spent most of his career in operations management, information technology and finance; and has worked at AMD, Maxim Integrated Products, FoodSaver, Providian Financial, among others. John earned a bachelor’s of industrial and operations engineering from The University of California, Berkeley and a master’s of manufacturing engineering from The University of Texas.
Areas of responsibility: Non-construction operations, corporate finance, insurance, bonding, information technology and accounting/HR oversight.

Gerard Beckers, Chief Estimator
Gerard has over 24 years of construction experience and has spent the last 10 years as a concrete estimator. He also has experience as a project manager and civil engineer in concrete construction and public water systems. He has extensive experience with large commercial projects including concrete parking structures, flatwork, tilt-walls and formwork. He graduated from the University of San Luis Potosi, Mexico with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Areas of responsibility: Commercial estimating, and estimating management.

Vicky C. Betancourt, Accounting/HR Manager
Vicky manages the company’s accounting and HR departments. She brings over 10 years of accounting and HR experience; working in diverse companies such as CenturyTel, CBS Radio, and Univision. She has filled a broad
range of positions at her previous companies including Credit Manager, Senior Staff Accountant and HR Manager.

Areas of responsibility: HR, accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

Axel Beverido, Inventory Control Manager
Axel manages the company’s purchasing, inventory and supply logistics. Axel graduated from the University of Monterrey with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. He is a Six Sigma Green Belt and spent six years with John Deere in charge of resource planning, managing customer orders, shipping and receiving, and conducting continuous improvement projects.
Areas of responsibility: Purchasing, inventory management, scheduling, cost control, and material receipts/deliveries.
